Baby’s Baptism

This little cutie was baptized today. Our families gathered in Texas to celebrate the day as Mark was baptized. As we are still out of the country, we choose Brett’s parents church to baptize Mark. Munchkin did great during his actual baptism but was his usual fiesty self and wasn’t the most patient waiting his turn lol. We picked Brett’s brother & my sister to be Mark’s godparents and he was surrounded by his grandparents and extended family. One of my favorite parts of the day was dressing mister Mark in his heirloom attire for the day.

Mark wore a cream silk romper made out of my mom’s wedding dress and a christening coat worn by his dad and papa. It was a lovely tribute to both of his families. The christening coat has been passed down for three generations on Brett’s side and we are honored to carry on the tradition. In addition to the coat, I loved that we were able to add a piece of my family to the day.  My mom worked with Fairy Godmother Creations to have her 1980s style dress turned into two heirloom christening outfits, a simple romper for a boy & a beautiful lace dress for a girl. I am still stunned at how beautiful they are. They will be such a fun tradition to carry on in our the family.

I absolutely adore these pictures of Mark in his christening attire. He looks so chic in his little white silk romper! I couldn’t stop taking pictures of him, I seriously must have 100. And it was just amazing being able to add the christening coat to his outfit and capture the next generation in it!

Following the baptism we took tons of family photos as it was the first time all of Mark’s immediate family were together. I am so happy everyone was able to attend and we were able to document the day. We wrapped up the day with a delicious cake which, much to Mark’s disappointment, I did not let him enjoy. Another few months buddy!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday!
